Freezing pdf files

Can anyone help a complete computer idiot ?
I always download a couple of crosswords from the web which are in Pdf format. When I try to do this today my computer freezes ,they won't load and I have to log off and restart.The Adobe reader thingy is obviously not working . Tried a systems restore but that doesn't do anything either .I have no idea how to download another reader and am missing my Spectator crossword fix !
We use Firefox .
Any ideas ..thank you .

I hope Mr. W was wearing his leathers on his bike. He must bfeeling better to want to do that which has to be a good sign.
I'm getting tired now. Haven't put the telly on again couldn't be bothered to sit and watch it.
Listening to music instead.
Earlier on I went up and moved all the furniture in my bedroom and hoovered the carpet. Hope getting all the dust up will help me to stop sneezing!! It's now been raining for a bit and is a bit cooler but I've still got the back door open.

Oh poor Mr S, he must be bloomin uncomfortable but I agree with Kit about the blood tests shaney, maybe he's just not been absorbing his food properly. Stay positive, hope you both had a good night.

Love the doggy doormen & Jude's good deed...I fell instantly in love with a little dog outside the paper shop a couple of weeks ago. The poor thing had been tied to the flower stand (luckily it was empty) & he moved & pulled it over, he wasn't hurt but was terrified. When I went to him he was so pleased, he was just lovely, a scruffy jack russell type but slightly bigger, I could so easily have taken to him...not sure what Chas would have had to say. Anyway I went in the shop & he belonged to a couple in there.

Dolly my son & his wife had been under threat of losing their jobs when they decided & they were disillusioned with the way this country's been going...plus the weather! Daughter-i-l's brother also lives there (Perth) so no doubt he sold it to them...but he's moved around a lot, single, no children, not such a big deal if things don't work out.

Yes Robi, I also had all his songs(?) on tape will have to look them out, he's brilliant. I saw him at the Fairfield Halls in Croydon in 1980 or thereabouts, he was brilliant. Was being recorded at the time so he kicked over the equipment but in an amusing way

Overcast hee with huge spots of rain, then hot sun, where do Istans with the washing, have actually dried first load in drier, now there's huge king size sheets hanging under patio and other load on, can't stop washing unless it's really, really pouring down!

Been trying to pay my bills only to discover that three! companies have failed to send me their bills - again. They do that - i.e. don't do it - during their holidays. But I bet if I didn't pay there would be repercussions. So, three phone calls to make now, and probably no one will be able to tell me the sums, as everyone will be on holiday, oh sigh.
