Can anyone help a complete computer idiot ?
I always download a couple of crosswords from the web which are in Pdf format. When I try to do this today my computer freezes ,they won't load and I have to log off and restart. The Adobe reader thingy is obviously not working . Tried a systems restore but that doesn't do anything either .I have no idea how to download another reader and am missing my Spectator crossword fix !
We use Firefox .
Any ideas ..thank you .

I am allowing myself ten minutes on here and then I simply must do some housework. I have friends calling in this afternoon!! Good job people come round sometimes otherwise I would be living in a total tip. (The loos and sinks are always clean though!!)
Nice to see you Dolly, by the way. Always good to hear from you.
Take care biddiemates. See you later.

No Neti ,no ,not a Golden Wedding but a DIAMOND Anniversary ! We've already survived A Silver Anniversary (25 yrs) and a Golden (50 yrs ) now it's a Diamond (60 yrs) .Don't know where the time has gone ,it goes so quickly now .
Chin up Robi ,I know how you feel ,my eldest went back to UK 6 or 7 yrs ago supposedly for a couple of years but no sign of her returning for good , My Father would never let my Mother tell me she missed me when we came out here in 1966 and gradually I got used to it ,it was only in 1983 when I brought my eldest sister out for a holiday( by then my mother was dead ) and she told me .I'm glad he stopped her because I got homesick in the first 2 yrs and if I'd had the money I would have returned but lucky for us we çouldn't afford it and I'm so grateful now .
Time for washing up so I;m off bye for npw Dolly xx

jno jnr can emigrate any time he likes, I am getting tired of waiting to commandeer his room. He's not even much use in showing me how to make the computer work.
Since I have had my rustic permitted breakfast - white-bread toast and butter - I will post a few photos from Germany
This is a baroque palace in Trier (closed to the public, but the outside looks ornate)
http://img339.imagesh...1677/germanytrier.jpg
and here we have Burg Sooneck, one of the castles along the Rhine valley
http://img185.imagesh...1888/germanyrhine.jpg
this is Wurzburg with a statue of St Kilian, the Irish monk who converted them all; but he got too bossy and they killed him
http://img694.imagesh...6/germanywurzburg.jpg
and finally a pretty bend in the Moselle river

PS I meant to congratulate Dolly... reminds me of the 90-year-olds getting a divorce; the judge asks them why it took so long and they say 'We wanted to wait till the children were dead.' If you get into the papers, make sure to check whether they've put it on their website as well, then you can send links to your friends and relations.
Hello all, wonderful cool kip this morning, we didn't get up till 09.45, DH went to bed at 20.00 last night and slept straight through, he must have needed it. he's gone out just now for the afternoon and evening on his own. (two meetings of groups he's involved with). I have said to God I am not going to be there to fuss so You had better bring him home safe or there will be a reckoning between You and me....do you think that counts as sincere prayer lol?
Robi I have slung in a more normal petition for the care of your family and you.
Big Hi to everyone else Dolly how is Pearl? Are we all feeling a little weary and jaded after the lust fest??

The fussing thing is so difficult to get over Woofie. It drove Mr LL mad. A year on and I am forgetting to fuss (almost). I was never at ease when we were apart. I am more relaxed now. I wonder if the fella's would be the same about us. I actually have my doubts about this. Men seem to worry when they have cause, women worry in advance and have more active imaginations.
Glad he is doing so well now though. Let's hope it will all be OK from now onwards for all of us.

Any of you ever had lethal net curtain? I have one over the back door as a fly screen and it has rather large mesh (netting I suppose) and everytime I pass through it something or other catches on it, usually a hair clip, but just now my nail on my middle finger caught and the damn thing has come off almost completely, it´s bleeding like mad, cannot use it and so painfull and it´s a soft curtain!!!!

Well I think I'm up to speed now, my eye's still fairly bad so it takes ages to read. I'm easily distracted by the floaters & I have to keep waiting for them to drift off side, haha.
Many Congratulations Dolly & Mr D...60 yrs, fantastic! Are you sure you haven't made the papers before for any reason? ;o)
Hope all ailing husbands are making good progress.
There's nothing worse than trying to rest on a hospital ward full of ill people, I hated it. I don't want to be in a dormitory when I feel ok, it's hell on earth when all you want to do is hide away. Actually when I was in for the long stretch they did put me in side rooms, they were glass all round, fishbowls we called 'em, but better than the main ward. The problem was that other people's visitors think you've got some hideous disease & stare like you're some kind of sideshow...well except for one or two. Every night a man came to visit his mum & he always waved & smiled on his way in & out again. I've never forgotten that little bit of kindness.
Neti, you'd find something to injure yourself on in a padded cell.
Must go...weeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

HI all.And many congratulations Dolly that's fantastic. Are you going to have a big Party? I hope so.
Hi Vin. What wouldn't I give for a chunk of chocolate cake. French or otherwise.I don't care.
Great photos Jno. You do it just right. All the best for your tests.
You're lucky to have nails Neti. I have to keep mine short as they split when they get long. Even so that must have hurt. Can't you put something different up at your door.
Anybody noticed that it doesn't say last at then end of the page numbers just puts the last number in black BLACK Also there's a welcome back message at the top of the page what's that all about then.
