Can anyone help a complete computer idiot ?
I always download a couple of crosswords from the web which are in Pdf format. When I try to do this today my computer freezes ,they won't load and I have to log off and restart. The Adobe reader thingy is obviously not working . Tried a systems restore but that doesn't do anything either .I have no idea how to download another reader and am missing my Spectator crossword fix !
We use Firefox .
Any ideas ..thank you .

Morning all, are you talking about tombstoning lottie, they do it a lot of here, and when under the influence they do it off of buildings and balconies!!!!

Sun's just coming out, I was hoping for a grey day!
Yep, that's it Neti - tombstoning. Seems to be getting more and more popular here too, especially in the West Country. Ridiculous!

Shaney email xx

Morning everybody. Yet another hot sunny day!
Shaney will be thinking of mr s on Sat, and he'll be ok!

Lottie that spider ship is DISGUSTING and I think it very unfair of you!!! I have asked my sister if I can actually sleep with her in Sept when I am there as I am still absolutley terrified of encountering one! Her old man can go in the guest room and I am deadly serious!

Remember those lovely gladiator sandals that I bought and posted a piccy, well a lot of the studs came off so I went back and apparently it's a fault ,so no quibbling, but didn't want another dodgy pair so got a credit note ( a vale over here) and will now save it for winter boots. Have seen almost the very same pair only with chains aswell as studs for 11€ (that's what, 22€ cheaper) and have reserved them until tomorrow, I ask you!!!

Hope all biddies, bidettes and bidmen are Okey Dokey!

35º here at 11.50am. I am melting!!!
Morning all. Shaney i will be thinking about you and Mr S on saturday. have been keeping a bit quiet about Mr W because he has been waiting to have his external drain taken away and internal plumbing restored. Was supposed to have been monday, postponed, tuesday cancelled due to some poor so and so needing the op slot urgently. anyway today at 08.30 it went ahead and all is now fine. Now they can get on with the task of sorting out the underlyings and he is safe (safer) from more infections. he should be home soon touching wood. I'd better do some cleaning lol
laters.
A cheerful piece of nonsense

Oh woofy, I hadn't faorgotten Mr W, but didn't realise he was still having treatment. Will send you a message on FB!!
Thanks for the update Woofy. I didn't realise Mr W was still having things done in hospital. I wish him (and you well). A year ago I was fraught with worry about Mr LL after his heart attack and then further hospitalisation. I understand exactly what you must be going through.

Biddie husbands seem to have had their fair share of health problems over recent times!

Make sure you look after yourself! xxxx
Bonjour...still a bit heavy weatherwise & I've got a headache for a change (?!) which isn't doing my fuzzy eye much good, I think I need a new cog like Vinny's avatar.
One of those spiders found it's way to my house, there was a beauty waiting for me on the landing last night...I'm not frightened of them but they do make you jump when you're half asleep.

The gift from the little 'uns was lovely for you Jude, were they thorntons, there seemed to be a lot of people spending in there last week?

Fancy missing a tv opportunity shaney, tut...try running round the shops in nothing but a transparent pacamac, that should get you top billing. All the very best for Mr S on Saturday...and you too, don't get in a fluster.
And best wishes for Mr woofy too...and anyone who's under the weather.

I don't really go for the obvious sad songs but this has to be top of my list...what a voice..

Aaaaaw Cheer up sleepy Jean ..I remember us girls all singing that on a beano in Margate to my old pal Jeannie who was slightly the worse for wear at the time !!

Flaming hot here and blowing a harmattan again . Still at least it gets the shaneysounds washing mountain dry :) It's all hand pegged as well .

That's good news Woofie .Let's hope he'll soon be home with you .
You are all so kind .I'm sure Mr S will be Ok .I just want them to find out wha't's wrong .I sometimes think not knowing is worse than knowing .

Oh, to be that age again. I realise now had little I had to worry about back then and how free I was and how everything was so new and exciting. I grabbed life with both hands and am so glad I did.
Afternoon each. I now have 9 songs to listen to that you have posted. I'm quite looking forward to the session.
I've had an odd sort of day up to now. I started to go for a bit of a walk (not far)and on the way I saw a friend I used to work with (she is now 83) and she was at the bus stop and was going to town. I hadn't seen here for such a long time so I got on the bus with here and we sat and talked all the way, then, when we got off the bus I walked with her so far, as she was meeting friends for lunch. When I left her I had a quick look round ended up in Boots and bought some flosses. Then I went to a Wetherspoons and had a Jacket and roast vegetables and a latte. ( I've recently learned that having a latte after 11 in the morning is very uncool ~ but who cares). My odd morning ended up with me walking back home which took me 50 minutes. In flip flops!!
All the best to Mr W and Mr S. and all with ailments ~ hope there are improvements very soon for you.
Have to go and cut the front grass now. And it is grass not a 'lawn' if you know what I mean.
Bye for now ......
Robi the chocs weren't Thorntons, they were Tescos but I can't have them can I so I gave them away. But the card is up on a shelf.
Has anyone read "To Kill a Mockingbird"? for some reason I want to read it but need to know if it's a) nasty and b) hardgoing? Thank you.
You are lucky you have some grass to cut Jude. Ours is brown and yellow stuff with green patches and hasn't seen a mower for some weeks. The only bits of it that have grown are the weeds!!

Glad you had a nice day. I have had a very lazy one. I simply won't go out in this hot weather if I don't have to!!

Talking of chocs. I think I will go and make myself a cuppa and have some lovely dark (70%) choc that I buy from Lidls. Naughty but nice!!

xx
Sure you didn't mean Denny Crane, Lottie? http://www.youtube.co...y2rjc&feature=related (BTW how much American stuff do you lot get on your national television?)

Evening possums, that's a whole lotta good music. Create a YouTube account Jude and make a playlist with the possum lieder, you can listen any time you like.

I started reading To Kill A Mockinboid Neti as it's such a classic but also because she and Truman Capote were friends and he was one of the best writers ever, maybe some of it rubbed off ha ha. Stupidly enough I started reading Mockingbird just after having finished Other Voices, Other Rooms (by Capote) which was a mistake as almost anything would have seemed poorly written with that book still fresh in your memory. But it is a classic and kids read it at school, so... >>>

Oh good job on the plumbing Mr W http://i25.tinypic.com/2utq9v9.jpg
...and Mr S will also have the best of help on Saturday Shaney. Anyone who survives going in at 7 a.m. is tough:)

T.M.I. possibly but I smell like sheep so I'm off for a shower:)
evening all, back from a dahling day at Sissinghurst garden, very lovely in the Kent sunshine and uncrowded (it's closed Wednesdays, but of course all doors open for me). There's a white garden - 'quite intimate' said the head gardener though of course it was twice the size of my rustic estate, and there were hundreds of acres beyond it as well.

ooooooooooh, lucky you jno...did you take any pics?
Now you've got me wanting to order the BBC mini series about Vita & Harold, (Portrait Of A Marriage) with the lovely David Haig...well I hope he is, he always comes across as a kind man... did anyone else see it? I can't believe it's 20 yrs since it was shown....surely not?!
Somewhere I have always wanted to go. I have a book bought for me by Master LL about Britains best gardens and Sissinghurst looks amazing!!
