All in one printer problem

I have a Lexmark X1270 all in one printer /copier /scanner, the problem is, I cant get my scanner to work. I have uninstalled the software a number of times, but it keeps saying windows cant install the software properlly for the printer.
I am running Windows XP.
Any help please.

You might have to contact Lexmark. I had a printer similar to yours which I thought I would use with my new laptop which runs on vista software and had the exact same problems. In the end I got so fed up I went to Tesco and bought an all singing all dancing HP printer for less than �30 - sorted!!!!

Oh and I forgot to add the printer cartidges are a lot cheaper than Lexmark ones!

Thanks very much Scotgal. I did think to do that anyway (buy a new one). I didnt realise the cartridges were cheaper tho, you learn something new every day.
