When you install Adobe Reader, it also installs "Acrobat.com". What is this?

If you click on it then it downloads and installs a product called Adobe Air.

I have not done it myself yet as I have had no reason to use Adobe Air.

On the web page I posted above it says

"The Adobe AIR runtime lets developers use proven web technologies to build rich Internet applications that run outside the browser on multiple operating systems"

So instead of writing programs that run INSIDE a browser (like Flash or Shockwave) these programs run OUTSIDE a browser.

That is about all I know.
