I also want to know so will watch this spot with interest.
if you have Microsoft Works or Microsoft Word there's an option for printing envelopes in both
Camioneur is right. Ive just done a couple.

Go to file and and click on the paper size option. You should be able to find the required envelope size in the drop-down menu. If I can do it anybody can.
get a box of a4 sheets of sticky lables

one size fits all - and in a laser it doesn't melt the gummy bit

word etc have the standard sizes as templates ... individual or whole sheet

and a duff lable is much cheaper than a misaligned or stuck envelope

even cheaper - get the ones with windows
Envelopes with Windows? Can't you get them with Linux?

ok thx
My HP printer has a special slot for envelopes, I just feed them into this.

If you are printing your letter in Microsoft Word, click tools on top menu, select envelopes and labels, in options it will give you the chance to select the size of the envelope.

I always choose DL.after I have printed the address, I feed my envelope into my printer and select Print.
type the address on a Word page; hilite the address & press Ctrl + c to copy. Open Tools/letters/envelopes & labels. Press Ctrl + v to paste address and print to envelope inserted into printer - as instructed and print.

some printers want face up, others face down.
There is a small problem using a sheet of labels.

If you only want to print less than then number of labels on the sheet you risk not being able to reuse that sheet. I would not bother trying to reuse a "sheet" that I had detached some labels from already. The printer tends to not like it and has a nasty habit of mangling the sheet.
rollo

I've been using every lable on a sheet since 1995
both laser and inkjet (I always use the laser ones)

never had a problem...

have had many problems printing envelopes - esp lately with the gummed type ... now they stick

my personal fave however is the window type
if the letter prints ... and you can fold paper ... every one's a winner
