direct draw

Have an old pc that I cannot get sound on it tells me I need (direct draw ecceleration) which is not available in your system Please enable it in direct x diagnostic tool which is dxdiag.exe in the tab display ,I've followed the instructions but all I get is you have no driver and it cant find any audio device. If its the drivers I need is there a way to d/load them on this pc and put them on the old one as the old one will not run on the net ,or can you buy a disc with all the relevent drivers on from such as pc world
I must tell you I reloaded windows xp on the old machine just to see if I could . Chuck helped me out with the graphics and a;ll is ok apart from sound ,But the grandchildren say they must have sound with their games,never satisfied lol

what is the make and model of the PC?

No make it was built by pc shop that went bust ,but he gave me the paper work with the windows disc ,and systems board manual is a pc DDR 333 Socket A M848A SERIES if that helps

One more question Chuck ,when I d/load it on this pc does it give me the choice to save and then put it on a disc and transpose it onto the old pc ,A bit worried it might just d/load it onto this pc and get myself in a muddle

when you download it make sure you select save and not run, you can then just transfer the file to the other computer and run it on there.

Nothing will be installed until you actually run the software.
