Should I renew AVG.?
17 Answers
I ask the question with the thought in mind that there could be something better for the price involved.
November of last year, I purchased (from Amazon) AVG Anti Virus (3 user) for the sum of £18.13.(incl.p&p.) However, to renew 'on-line' with AVG for a further 12 month. it is now going to cost a minimum of £30.00 to cover my laptop and desktop comps.
It is my understanding that some Anti Virus programmes from other providers are not without problems. Consequently, as AVG has appeared to work effectively for me, perhaps I should accept that £30.00 is nowadays a reasonable amount to pay.
Helpful advice from ABers will be very much appreciated.

I would have though that for £30 you could get more than just anti virus cover.
PC security is MUCH more than just anti virus
You can get Norton Internet Security for 3 computers for less than £30 (£23 actually) from Amazon which is more than anti virus.

Sorry galeck... if I appeared to disregard your comments. I have now noted what you said, but, as I am no longer getting e/mail notifications from AB, it is only now that I picked-up your posting.
For your info. I have now installed MS Essentials and will give it a whirll; but will bear in mind Avast because my sister-in-law is still operating on AVG and her set-up is comming up for renewal. Furthermore, I could have something, as recommended by you, as a fall-back if I feel that MSE is not to my liking.
Best wishes.....Ron.

Hi RATTER.... I have seen it published in the columns of AB that kaspersky is excellent, (could even be the best) but that was before MSE arrived. However, it still costs money and, as an O.A.P., I try to save on expenditure and whilst I appreciate that 'one gets nothing for nothing', I still keep trying to get bargings. :-)
