I have an image I want for background but i can only seem to make it repeat itself or have it small, does anyone know how i make one image full-page size?

i.e. if resolution = 640x480, use "image640x480.jpg"
I don't think that you can write html which will stretch your image so your best bet is a combination of javascript and different stylesheets.

Generally not a good idea. For a start, a full size image suggests to me that you want something interesting as a background which will distract from your content. Also, it'll take an age for each page to load. People have different resolutions, i wouldn't like to load a 1600x1200 image every time a page loads..
You can "Stretch" the image to fit the screen but this only works if the image is the same or similar proportion to your screen. Also if it is too small the stretching process will be blurred. Right click on your desk top and select "background" there should be a selection box with 3 options: Centre/Tile/Stretch select stretch and see what it looks like.
Otherwise edit the picture with a photo editing package and save it as the same size as your screen.
