Torrent Burning

I download the occasional music album torrent from Mininova via utorrent about once a month. I then burn the torrent to CD via Nero Smartstart getting it to convert the files into a file format suitable for playing on a CD player.

When I play the CD, there's usually at least one music track that seems to "jump" during playback. I've tried burning at very low speeds and using reputable/recommended torrents to solve this problem but so far nothing seems to work. I also try to make sure that very little else is running on the PC during burning.

My PC has an Athlon 1600 processor with a mere 256MB of DDR RAM. Could this be the cause of the problem? Is there anything else I can do to try to solve this problem? I'm also a bit unsure about this "Disc at Once" and "Track at Once" in Nero - which should I be using?

I assume these files are downloaded as mp3 files.

Try playing the mp3 file on your PC and see if that jumps. If it does you know it is in the source file.

I have found in the past that some mp3 files jump while I am playing them.

as vhg says have you listened to the downloaded original ....?
don't forget where the tracks came from ... what's surprising is that it's only one track
