Unknown email sender

For the last two days I have been receiving emails, all about employment, from different sources but all using my email addres as the name of the sender. I can't put these into my blocked addresses as I will not then get my own emails.
Does anyone know the purpose of these messages or what I can do about it?

it's just spam, most of us get it in various guises. just delete them.

The purpose of them is to entice you to divulge your personal details. The scammers will then use these details to get fake credit cards, loans, passports etc all in your name.

I often get them, for Viagra, fake watches, university diplomas and all sorts. Just delete them without opening them
