Skype - International

I use Skype to talk to friends in a town 8 mile away - the picture/sound quality is A++. I also talk to family in Canada, but the picture freezes, sound disappears etc. - basically it's cr*p! If my local chat is good, surely my settings must be OK? So why problems with international please?

Whats your broadband speed Mr-H, I chat to my daughters in OZ and another in H/Kong, never any probs.
I am with Sky with 20mgb.

Download speed varies between 104 KBPS (lowest) to 656 KBPS (once to 1080). Like you I am Sky unlimited, 'up to 20mgb' is what they say!!
