Ebay query.

If I sell an item on eBay for 99p, how much would I get for it once the fees (eBay and Paypal) have been taken off?

ebay fees are (i think) 10% paypal fees on 99p wouldn't be much

It's 10% - a few pence therefore on a 99p transaction, but you don't pay a listing fee.

Yes they would . Paypal chrges 3.4% plus 20p so on 99p you pay 10p to ebay 33p to paypal plus with paypalyou also pay 3.4% of however much you charge for postage.

Yes thats right. You can end up out of pocket if you miscalculate your postage charges

No, no flat fees, windy, it's all percentages. Your PayPal account gets credited with the net amount.

You are not supposed to but I know a lot of people add the extra to their postage so they dont lose out

I don't understand how people can do that - I calculate the postage, then add a bit for packaging, getting to PO etc (which is allowed) - if you charge too much for P&P then you get rated down by customers on your postage charges feedback.

B00, it'll serve me right for trying to do a bit of wheeling and dealing. Saw some birthday cards this morning reduced from £1.50 to 35p and all that was wrong was that they were dusty. So I thought I'd have a go at selling them on eBay, and bought half a dozen.

When I looked up birthday cards, there's about three million of them for sale on there! (Well, slight exaggeration perhaps).

Yes I know Boxtops but some people stilldo it. You only have to look at the amount they charge! Good for you being honest though. But there is definately a 20p flat fee as well as the percentage.

would it be better to keep em? I have a box stuffed to the gills with cheap birthday and other occasion cards that ive picked up cheaply when i see them. Always handy to have, especially considering when you leg it to the card shop at the last minute as you've forgotten someones birthday. Have you seen the prhe prices of them?

Boxtops is probably right. If you sell at £3 you will pay 30p to Ebay 29p to Paypal leaving you with £2.41 , as they cost you £2.10 you are in pocket just. Remember thought that if postage is £1 paypal will take another 3p !
At least you get your money back

Oh I forgot that if you list at £3 you will also have a listing fee of 15p to pay.
Just keep them . Its not worth the hassle!
