TV reception

I have a freeview television which works perfectly on ITV and all other freeview channels by only working intermittently on BBC channels. This looks like a signal problem what is the answer? Can anyone help a poor helpless woman?!

Post a postcode of one big place near you? I'll look later and see what you should be getting with what antenna, and exactly where it should be pointing. In the interim, make sure the cable is not split into two anywhere .. and look up at condition of the antenna (how old is it?)

mines weird too i get Yorkshire regional weather which is correct on itv but i get granada local news (west) not Yorkshire local. and i'm on the south yorks / notts border

Yes .. Things can get weird ..
Many things depend on how 'directional' your antenna is, and whether by design it is susceptible to picking up signals off the rear of the antenna, which also happens.

This is midagetrolop's husband replying. Thanks for all the the answers, I live in the Sheffield area (S36 9QN). Subsequent to the wife's question,I retuned all the channels and at the moment have got 100% availability of Freeview channels.

You pointed at Emley Moor .. only 6 miles away!? (353 degrees .. N)
6 miles .. A little thing should do that. But it 'should' be a Group B antenna, really.

Thanks AlBags, 24 hours down the line and since re-tuning the TV all
channels working OK with a good signal strength as indicated by the on screen message. Fingers crossed!!!!!
Can I be a pain in the bum and ask what a Group B antenna is????
