Samsung Galaxy Ace Mobile Phone

I have one of the above, had it for about two months. I don't know if I'm missing something but if I get sent a text and don't hear it as it arrives on my phone it doesn't remind me, by beeping or anything, that I've an unopened text waiting. I'm not someone who has their mobile with them everywhere they go, or sitting next to me, or in my pocket, so it can and does happen that I miss texts. My old pebble phone used to and it was very useful.
Is there an app or whatever, or something which needs activating on the phone, to make it beep or make some noise at regular intervals until I read any text I might be sent?

Do you mean that you hear a beep when you get the message but there are no further reminder beeps? My old phone used to do that. It beeped every now and again to let me know there was a message but I`ve got the Galaxy Ace and I can`t find anywhere on it to set that up. It doesn`t appear to do it.

Well, I think it already does that, it rings and vibrates as a text arrives. I want it to keep reminding me that I have an unread text if I don't immediately open it...do you see what I mean? I'm not very good with technology :(

Why not keep it your pocket ? Then you would know exactly when a message comes in. After all, it might be important...some member of the family broken down beside the road, etc.

You are not like my sister-in-law are you ? She only switches her phone on when she is expecting a call !

I have pointed out the illogicality of this but to no avail. (could be of course, because she is illogical I suppose )

Mikey, I'm not quite as bad as your sister in law...but almost! I'm just not used to being 'attached' to my mobile, I very often don't hear it when it's in my handbag, and more often than not don't have a pocket to keep it in. I am trying to remember to take it everywhere with me but often just find it a bit of a nuisance. And that's why it would be good to have a reminder bleep if I miss a call or text.
Fender, thanks for that link, will get my techie person to have a good look at that tomorrow, it looks promising :)
