Black Type Cannot Be Printed, Colours Can!

I wonder if anyone can help me to find out what is wrong - I cannot print out anything which is printed in black yet anything typed in colour prints perfectly well. The black cartridge is not empty. I have gone through cleaning process but this hasn't helped.

Run the black cartridge under warm water where the ink comes out then dry off completely and put back into printer.

Thanks - this helped very slightly but complete page not printing. Think I will have to visit computer shop!

Try a new black cartridge. If you refill a cartridge after it is showing signs of running out of ink you can get an airlock in the supply to the ink nozzle. These can be difficult to get rid of without applying air pressure to force the ink through. Windscreen washer additive is usually isopropyl alcohol which is the same as the ink solvent. Try standing the cartridge in a drop of this on a saucer or egg cup. It may dissolve any dried ink that is clogging the nozzle.

I find that the built-in cleaning process waits a terrible amount of ink.
I usually stand the print head of the cartridge in a saucer of hot (not boiling) water and leave until cool then wipe print head with a moist paper tissue to check for ink flowing OK. Repeat 2 or 3 times in necessary.

Blimey Hazlinny are you in my house, I've just got the same problem with my Kodak printer, I only put a new black cartridge in a couple of weeks ago. Grrrr!
