I´ll start by saying I have very little knowledge of how my computer works so please advise in simple English.

Despite doing so on numerous occasions I can no longer print anything from my Documents file. I have paper and printer is connected. However if I go into the web and print from there it works.

Could I have disabled something?

Any advice greatly appreciated.

What type of document?
Any messages on screen or on printer?
Basedon on virtually no information, the docs youre trying to print need to have the printer selected from the print options dialogue box from within the documents print menu

There are no messages. My laptop is only connected to one printer. It seems to be going through the motions, paper is fed through the printer but it comes out blank. Yes, I do have ink. Only started doing this yesterday.
Can you print a 'test' page?

SlackAlice..............How do I do that? Only do this when I change cartridges and I am prompted then.

I am using Windows 7, Microsoft office 2007 and an HP desket 1050A.
The black ink is working when I print from a web page.
Sometimes it's easier to unplug the printer from the computer, uninstall the printer software, and re-install it from the original CD.

Often quicker than searching around for the problem.
Recently I had a similar problem and it was resolved by my changing the black ink cartridge. It was very strange being able to print from the Internet but Not the computer. Perhaps it was something to do with the Black Ink's cartridge outlets having become clogged and the coloured cartridge was printing as near as possible to black; which is possible and sometimes does happen.

You could see what is discovered if you give your Printer a 'run through' with the HP Print & Scan Doctor, which sometimes even fixes a problem:-
