Please can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong as I don't have any sound I went onto setting and everything looks ok what am I missing anything help please.

Check the mute switch just next to the volume toggle

Is Do Not Disturb on by any chance? Check for a quarter-moon icon in the status bar up top.

Did you come right? It's just possible it's a malady with the headphone connection – if you happened to use these ... i've found that Apple doesn't like Sony headphones; if the problem is still there maybe check out the link on youtube whereby a MacBook Pro suffered with the same ailment. One assumes your volume switch (found alongside the ipad) is turned up to max ... let us know and we'll consult the oracle more in depth if need be ...

I'm sure you will have done this but check the 2 sound buttons on the side. 1 is sound effects and the other volume, is the volume 1 on mute?
