Hi
My set up : desktop PC, W7 Home premium,Virginmedia broadband with superhub. deVolo 200 av mini connected to hub with ethernet cable, other adaptor connected to Samsung smart TV with ethernet cable. This all works fine. Bought a deVolo dLan500 wifi adapter to improve signal to the wife's Samsung Tablet and my Google nexus. Installed exactly as per instructions but when asked for wifi key for deVolo message says "unauthenticated" so tablets revert to Virginmedia.Feel like I've wasted my money with the deVolo500. Any advice out there please ? Tried contacting deVolo bot not a lot of help.

I would guess, I stress guess, there is some set-up needed on the deVolo such that it authenticates itself correctly to the router. Nothing in the manual ?
The only "manual" is a cartoon type instruction sheet. The instructions say to take note of the WiFi code printed on the reverse of the adapter, plug in, wait 45 seconds, press the top button on the front and when prompted on the tablet/s, enter the code.
This doesn't work. Thanks for your answer.

1) Old geezer : it's a brand new one from Amazon
2)hc4361 : I have three units ! One that is connected to the superhub upstairs in my home office. The second one is in my lounge connected to my Samsung TV.
Both of these are connected by ethernet cable.
The third one is the new wifi dLan 500, which is plugged in in my dining room, next to my lounge. These are supposed to be Plug and Play apart from the wifi code.
Thanks for the replies.

Answer yes - PC and hub upstairs, adapter downstairs. I can see where you are coming from, but the adapter shows up as connected on the deVolo Cockpit software and also under wireless networks on the PC.

Again, thanks for the replies to my problem. Just for info, contacted deVolo, they gave me a procedure to follow which took up 2 A4 pages of printing !! Took your advice hc4361, have now parceled up the offender and sending it back to Amazon for a refund. Will try a different brand maybe. Thanks again

Good luck with it all. I have powerlines but not the wifi ones, I was thinking of buying some.
It SHOULD be easy......
I reckon you've got a faulty unit.
