In the meantime I suggest you check to see that your Firefox is up-to-date.....Click open Firefox > Help > About Firefox. You will then see a notice telling you if FF is up-to-date and if it isn't showing 39.0 version you will be able to up-date from there.

Hans I know you have just got in - but went into Firefox and 3.9 is there - in fact it asked me right away - do you want to uninstall so of course I left it alone. Another little thing came up at top of left hand corner just a small thing saying - firefox won't work for you - would you "allow" it - of course I clicked allowed - that didn't work either. thanks for your help hans when you get the time.
Good afternoon jj...You now have me wondering if a 'nastie' has got into your computer.
I think you should give a scan with the free edition of Malwarebytes.
Download the installation file and install from your Downlaods folder. Do Not accept any offer for a trial of the Premium edition or anything else on offer.

It can take as long as an half hour or more to do a scan. It depends on how much stuff you have in your Computer/Laptop.
Have a try and let me know what evolves from a scan with Malwarebytes.

It is my guess that, in your endeavour to load the free edition of Malwarebytes, you Did Not unclick a box on the last page of the installation file which said.." Enable Free Trial of Malwarebytes Anti Malware Premium".
I am now at a loss to suggest what to do next. It certainly appears that you have a few nasties which need to be removed.
It looks as if we may have to start all over again. In which case, please indicate what Laptop or Desktop Computer you have (Make & Model Number) along with its Operating System ( Windows Vista, W 7, W 8 or whatever)
