Just acquired the above phone, finding it difficult to handle, it has predictive-text ,and I cant get rid of it, can someone take me through step by step,tried looking into settings but to no avail

How far do you get through "Settings - Language and Keyboard - Touch Input - Text Input - Prediction"?

If you can get all of the way to 'Prediction' then (I assume by pressing on it) you should see the on/off option.

I'm guessing here but does the list that you see, when you access 'Settings' fill the available space? If so, you'll need to scroll down (or up) to see more options (hopefully including 'Language & keyboard')

I have just had a look at my old Samsung phone. It was a GT S5830 so it might be a bit like yours. Go into Settings, Locale and text, Swype, Word Prediction and uncheck
