I am transferring a number episodes of a tv series from Sky+HD to my dvd recorder and am experiencing a situation that I do not understand. I am using good quality TDK+ blank DVD discs & setting the recorder to EP 6 hours. Each episode I am recording is on the Sky box @ .30mins therefore the disc should hold 12 episodes, In fact each disc is full @ 6 Episodes max. Could it be because all the series episodes are recorded on the Sky box in HD & taking up twice as much room as SD ? My DVD recorder is a Panasonic DMR-EZ28EB.

All I can suggest is that you place the DVD in a PC drive and interrogate the files as to their size. I’m sure you will find that they take up approximately 1/6 of a DVD disk capacity.

You could test your theory re recording in HD from the Sky box, by recording programs in non HD format and checking the file size as above.
