Laptop Problem

Switched our laptop on today after charging it logged in OK only to find it is continually switching between the desktop page and a blank blue page. Can anyone suggest what can be wrong.

Alas cannot verify what the Window's version is due to the switching but I suspect it may be Window's 7

Make, model No. of laptop. Unless you've upgraded it then there should a Windows product sticker on it identifying what O/S and version.

Type Your Answer Here...Have just switched it on and it is working normally. The version is Window's 8. So what could have caused the problem.

If Windows updates take their time then there can be switching between different displays (e.g. when I did an update of W10 yesterday there were it switched several times between the log-in and boot-up screens until the updates were fully configured).
