Top right hand corner of the IE toolbar, blue button with a white question mark. Click on that, it will tell you what version you have.

What browser are you using? Chrome and Firefox have a built-in one.
Question Author
No, i know it hasn't got a 'built in' one, jd. It's new, is it IE (windows and that)
Probably IE. Do yourself a favour and download either or both of the ones I suggest. You'll be amazed at the difference!
There are a few available, depends which version of IE you are using.

Sorry Oz, pressed that thing you said and all sorts of interesting stuff on there. i think there's probably what i want on there. And a rather scrummy ex-bunny girl is sending me texts at the same time. Just pinged again. ;-)
I can't compete with an ex-bunny girl.

Your IE could be one of four versions, probably need to know which to find a compatible spell chequer

bear with me.
When you click on the button, select "about".

It's IE11. But it tells you to go into tools and select spellchecker.
That's the cog wheel symbol, isn't it? There's nothing saying spellchecker under that? Grrrr.

I'm guessing the little gear wheel is the "options" button. If you can't see a button that says "tools" you may not have your tool bar showing.
If that's the case you need to enable tool bars, probably in options, then click on tools, go down to add-ons, show all, select spellcheck and enable.
