Well it isn't omniscient, it correctly identified Safari and IOS 10.1.1 when I tried it but the same link accessed in Chrome on the same Ipad said Firefox and Windows 7, plus the IP address was way out as well!

Good points, but I tried it using two of the three browsers I use and it tells me correctly which browser I'm using, which is the question the OP asked.
