Hi. Have followed your instructions from my hijack of Emmie's post, and it appears the latest 2 were identical, Dec and Jan, and they were Malicious Software Removal Tool for W8, 8.1 and 10
Also seem to have a lot of Updates for Adobe Flash Player? *shrugs*
I do worry so for folk in their 80s and 90s who are reading and hearing "hasn't everybody got a Smartphone now?,"and how organisations are saying they hope to be completely paperless by 2020 :(

You will get regular updates regarding "malicious software removal tool" all in the latest Defender version. It means that you are being protected against any "new" perceived threats that Microsoft are aware of. Also the Microsoft Flash Player upgrades mean that you are running the latest version of that. Things evolve and the way that news sites and "entertainment" sites quickly incorporate new compressed video techniques mean that to be able to access them the flash player needs to keep up as well. Stay safe .......and well.
Bit of info on Trustee Rapport.
//When you connect to a protected website, Trusteer Rapport does three main things in the background to make it extremely difficult for criminals to target you:
Trusteer Rapport verifies that you are really connected to the genuine website as opposed to a fake website created by criminals. Surprisingly, it is not trivial to reach a genuine website when you type the website address into your web browser.
Once verification is complete, Trusteer Rapport locks down communication between your computer and the protected website. This prevents criminals from hijacking your online connection with the bank.
Trusteer Rapport protects your computer and internet connection by creating a tunnel for safe communication with your bank or enterprise, preventing criminals from using malware to steal your log-in data and tamper with financial transactions or information exchanges.//

Never had a problem with it LiK. On either my laptop or desktop. There were historically some issues with certain browsers firefox being one, and some third party "security" programmes caused conflict. Not I might add the fault of Trusteer. However you may find that if your bank, say, recommends that you install it and you do not, then you may not be considered covered if you have any online banking issues. Works beautifully with w10 in chrome and edge for me. I do wonder though about users on old systems or stretched resource machines being able to utilise it.
Try the first and if no joy try the second. Just a word Baths more and more sites not just the banks, that are involved with the movement of cash or payments online are using Trusteer, not only to offer you protection but themselves as well. Some people give us advice based on what can now only be described as outdated systems and methods. I only give my advice based on up to date machines and the latest operating system, because that is what I am using.
Togo - fair enough :-)
However, I felt it fair to post an opposing opinion - I genuinely can't say a good word about Rapport. My machine's resources weren't/aren't stretched & I have BT/McAfee & Defender running jointly in the background with zero problems & haven't had a banking issue to date.
When I tried Rapport it would constantly nag me with "Are you sure you want to use that password (again)?" messages (it keylogs, don'tcha know...) & noticeably slowed the whole system down. I'm not alone, last time I looked there were many complaints about it on t'Interweb - however, there may be as many compliments, so - horses for courses.

Baths, it's (obviously) your choice - if *they* tell you (& convince you) to install it, go ahead. I'm *not* saying you'll have problems, just that *if you do*, they'll be hell to sort out.

Thanks LIK. Think I will keep it...can always remove it if problematic, can't I? (well I can with instructions from here)
Am reminded with problem I had with wanting to return something to Amazon, but had no printer to receive return label with barcode. They couldn't believe I had no access to printer at all, but they did believe I was housebound. "Oh just keep it" was their final decision ;)
