Opening Excel Document

My neighbour has an excel document on a stick. How can she get it to open? Windows 10 on EDGE. What program does she need anyone help?

Assuming she hasn't got Excel she can instal Chrome and the spreadsheet extension; or use Open Office or similar. Maybe Edge has something too

Microsoft used to offer a free program, called Excel Viewer, for opening Excel files without actually having Excel on your computer. However they withdrew it last year and they now suggest using OneDrive (which, unless you already use it, is unnecessarily complicated).

It's much easier to install OpenOffice and then use Calc which is a component of OpenOffice) to open the file:
