I seem to have increased the size of my desktop icons without realising. How do I alter back to what they were,please?

Easiest way, press & hold the Control key and use the mouse scroll to decrease/increase icon size.

I did as you wrote, and it merely copied the icon, which I deleted, it didn`t reduce the size

Right-click a blank area of the Desktop, hover on "View", select from "Large icons" "Medium icons" "Small icons"
