Completely Locked Out Of Facebook & Fb Messenger
63 Answers
I have been happily posting on FB for years and have a lot FB friends on this site (they must think I'm dead). However about 10 days ago I was locked out and cannot get back in by any means whatsoever. I think it may have something to do with the new two factor authentication.
I have asked for codes to be resent, I get codes which I try and input but they always tell me it is incorrect. I have tried changing passwords and email accounts. (This applies both to FB and messenger). My partner is very IT orientated but even he cannot understand why I can't get back on - so here's a challenge for you all... :-)
There is a lot going on in my life right now whereas messenger at least would be very beneficial. The only customer service online help offered is for FB business accounts.
Has anyone else encountered this problem? Has anyone any advice or solution?
Thank you so much x

Either you have done it or somebody else did it. Worst case somebody else has hacked into your account, changed the password and enabled two factor authentication so that you have trouble getting back in.
For now, let's suppose all is innocent. You need to get hold of an authenticator app. Try searching for Google Authenticator in the App Store (if you have an iPhone) or Play Store (if you have an Android phone). Install the Google Authenticator app and set it up to give you codes for Facebook using the email address you log in to Facebook with. The app will then - hopefully - give you the codes that Facebook is asking for when you log in.
If you need more help with the above then ask back here.

Hi Salla
Here is the link to the App Store version:
https://apps.apple.com/us/app/google-authenticator/id388497605
If you're on AB on your mobile, you should be able to just click that link and go to the correct place in the App Store.
