Managing Your Content

On my Kindle fire HD8 I have had the 'managing your content' running for three days now. No idea why it has appeared but I would like to get rid of it if I can. Does anyone know how?

"Yesterday I had three books in the New Items section of the home screen. Long-pressing and choosing "Hide" on two of them removed them from the screen, but when I do this with the last one, it remains on the screen and I get a notification that says "Managing your content" that won't complete or go away.
I've tried restarting but it still does the same thing. How can I fix this and remove the item from my home screen?
If it matters, these three items appeared and the issue happened after the recent update that condensed the home screens into three pages"

"Ah, finally removed it! If anyone else has this issue, what I did was tap the book item to download it to my device, then long-press and choose "Remove from device." This must have kick-started something, because it finally disappeared after that."
Is any of that relevant to you?
