02 Phone And Changing Provider

My friend very kindly gave me her Apple phone when she took out a new contract with 02 and had a new iPhone. I am with 02 on a pay as you go and would like now to switch to BT mobile as I have my broadband with them. I understand I have to get a pac number but will the phone be locked into 02 as originally it belonged to someone else?

Could be but as it is out of contract it shouldn't be. If you have a friend or relative on a different network, pop their SIM card in to your iPhone and make a call. That's the quickest and surest way to know.
