You must have a computer to ask this question so just do a search on Google to find the cheapest!

Type in the search box DVD Recorder you will get plenty of shopping sights.

I would repsecttfully suggest that cheapest is not always best.

The internal type is cheaper that the external type by virtue of the fact that it does not have a casing or a power supply, so go for the internal type.

The performance (in particular the speed at which it burms disks) is a major factor in determining cost as is the reputation of the manufacturer.

My suggestion, for what it is worth, is to buy the 'fastest' burner you can afford and only buy from an outlet that will give you a no-quibble 12 month replacement guarantee

did you mean a writer for the computer or a recorder for the telly?
I'm assuming that confused24 does want a stand-alone 'under-the-TV' type DVD recorder. As Barryboy says, cheapest is not always the best! Usually you will find that the cheapest (now about 75) will only record one format (usually DVD +R - not the most common now) - shop around for a good dual format/dual layer recorder. Look at LG/Pioneer/Pansonic and Sony (some like Liteon) and even Maplin's offerings.
