Hi,

I am trying to reduce cable thickness in order to de-clutter between plasma tv and DVD recorder. I had thoughts to reduce length of present(tubular)SCART but I don't think I have the competence to reconnect SCART end. I see that there are other SCARTs that are flat and would coil/fold easily. Can anybody confirm that these 'flat' SCARTS fulfil exactly the same function as the standard cable.

Hi Gudgeon,

As it happens I received thro the post today a Profigold flat SCART. That is the good news. The bad news is that the configuration of the back of my plasma to the wall bracket does not allow for the square shape of this new connector to fit into the appropriate AV of my TV. I have reluctantly had to refit the angular topped conventional SCART.

The only way I could do it would be to partly remove the plasma from its wall bracket but I feel that this would still leave it jammed between the backet and the plasma.

I have a Panasonic Plasma and the 3xAV skts face outwardly at right angles to the back face of the screen hence my problem.

Ta for your help anyway
