Hi just bought a new dvd recorder (pioneer) with an hard-drive,the problem is when watching what I have recorded I get another programme running 'underneath' the one I am watching. The guy in the shop says I need a better and more expensive scart lead!!

For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.I can't provide you with an answer, but it sounds like the guy in the shop is trying to pull a fast one, and get you to buy a uneccessary lead. We use a �2.99 Scart lead with our HD Digibox, and quality is perfect.
SCART leads aren't like RF aerial leads that can suffer from interference. I would try a different SCART lead just to be sure, but probably your DVD recorder is faulty.

Sorry, I've got to totally disagree with the last answer. The salesman may be right, you might need a better lead, but it could be just a case of repositioning the scart cable.
I have, in the past, had "interference" on certain channels, either a low buzzing noise or a ghost image from a different channel, and this was only solved as a result of jiggling about at the back with the scart leads.
