I have an Ebay account and have put a few things on to sell, this is the first time that i have done this!
One item has sold, however i am now not too sure what to do, does Ebay tell you when the other person has paid? I have requested paypal only.
Secondly, another Ebayer has asked me if we can come to a deal, if he offers a price i am willing to take, can i end the auction early?
please help!

You can also access your Paypal account at any time to check.
If you haven't done so you can send your buyer an invoice. You can do this from the actual listing page - you will see an option to send invoice.
Be very careful about accepting offers - always trade through eBay. Usually offers are made when the buyer expects the price to rise and is hoping to get a good deal. I have never accepted an offer and have never regreted it - the item has always sold for me.
But you can end an auction early if there is more than 12 hours left of the auction. Then you would set up a buy it now with the other person as the preferred buyer.
I have known of cases where sellers have done exactly that - and the buyer has not bought the item. They are selling an identical item (usually under another id) and want to get rid of rival listings.
I would advise you to read the help pages carefully especially the terms and conditions of Paypal if you are selling high valued goods.
Also eBay has it owns forums where you will get good advice for any eBay or PayPal question.
