I found the games on super nintendo were way better than the ones on megadrive, especially the ones developped by Nintendo themselves (mario kart, Zelda: a link to the past, Mario World )

Snes wins hands down! Mega Drives had their good games such as Streets of Rage and Sonic but the SNES dominated everything in its time with games like Mario Kart, Donkey Kong, Zelda, Mario World, SF2 etc.

But that just shows you the best games on the Snes were Mario's and Zelda etc!!!

Totally agree with you both. Super Mario and Zelda were the best. I remember playing Mario so much I had Nintendo thumb and lots of weird dreams about running around jumping over walls (no drugs, honest)! I think my Mum might still have my SNES, might dig it out for old times sake.

no way! the mega drive was by far the better. sonic the hedgehog was a little blurry blue legend!

I had the mega drive (genesis for all you US fans). But the snes was the superior machine technically.

As Space says, it's all about the games. I chose the mega drive because at the time my friends all had mega drives too, so we could swap games and things like that. There were a lot of good games on both platforms, but the general quality of the games on the snes was superior (again as Space says, mostly the Nintendo ones).

Funny though, last year I decided to buy both consoles on eBay, together with the best games for each one. You can't beat 4-player mega bomberman!
