depends what phone it is...

most have data cables available from market or online(example: eBay) or if the phone has bluetooth you could buy a bluetooth dongle

http://www.blueunplugged.com/Products/Bluetoot h_USB.aspx

which you plug in the send photos that way...bluetooth is slower than USB data cables but will do the job.

once you have either of these installed they'll appear on your PC as 'Removable disk' you can just copy the files from that folder straight to your PC and do as you please with them

daft question, but do you plug the bluetooth dongle directly into the mobile??
no the dongle fits usb on PC
the bluetooth goes into the USB on the PC

then connects 'wireless' via bluetooth technology to your phone which is already bluetooth enabled

you can also send pics to other phones via bluetooth just using the phone

wow -thanks guys!! I will try that later as I know my b/f has a blueetooth dongle which he uses with his laptop.
Just have go to see these pics enlarged !
You probably don't have a cable, as the phone companies don't want you to download pictures from your phone, by cable, as they can't charge you for it!!!

On my phone if you go to the picture you can then select 'Send Options' . These include InfraRed, but your PC needs an IR port.

You can also send it as a picture message to an email address. But you will get charged for this.
I bought a date cable for this very thing, but on trying to install ontp Windows XP it asks me to select phone model and neither of my Nokia (6103 and 6070) are mentioned. Can I still use the cable and if so what model no. shall I select? Please help.
