Weird text

Sometimes when I am typing online, say, an email, the cursor will suddenly jump to a different part of the screen and continue writing there- in between another word usually. When I stop and click to find the cursor, a box appears that looks like a drop down menu from internet explorer, even though I am on aol.

My PC has been playing up and crashing- leaving a blue screen with text on it, but I thought this was linked with my failing landline, which has now been fixed.
ANY ideas at all??!!

are you using a laptop?

when i had my laptop a few years ago, i kept cathcing my sleeve on the touchpad, this would move the mouse pointer?

otherwise i havent got a clue, although someone else will prob have a better answer

Nope it's a normal PC! Although it is behaving most abnormally..

Have you got a wireless mouse? It could be low batteries. Also, my sister used to use a wireless mouse in another room that would always interfere with mine. Very annoying!!!

I do have a wireless mouse, yes. But the batteries are fine at the moment!

Is the receiver hidden away somewhere? I always keep mine on top of the desk, level with the mouse.

Try setting up the mouse with the receiver again (usually pressing a button on the receiver and then on the mouse).

Are you using the mouse on a shiny surface? This can confuse the sensor - try it on a mouse mat or even a piece of paper to see if it still happens.
