Graphics on my laptop screen are getting darker and more difficult to see....the laptop is about 4 years old ....(compaq) what is the average lifespan of a laptop screen.?

As far as I'm aware, the average life-span of laptop screens are around 5 years old. It sounds to me like the end is nigh on your Compaq laptop screen.
