I have just downloaded a 600 MB movie in AVI format. When I open the movie all I get is a blank screen with a DIVX logo in the corner.I have a DIVX player installed, but when I try to open the movie using the DIVX player,I get the following message: the video file includes video data that is not recognised by the divx player, video data:FOURCC code 'DX50' you may need to install a new video codec on you computer to watch this video. Do anyone know how to resolve this problem, and what type of codec I need? Thanks very much.

To find out the exact codec needed download 'gspot' and load the movie. This will tell you the codec and if it is installed. If you have divx5, make sure it is the latest version as some films will not play on older ones. Otherwise install the codec shown in 'gspot', which can be found here:http://www.headbands.com/gspot/
