Broken PC?

My sister went to turn her PC on this morning, and the "standby" light just flashed on and off while the PC made some unsavory noises.
Any idea what could be wrong? It didn't boot up at all. Is it dead? Or do you think it is fixable? She is skint and can't afford a new one!!

that happened to mine. try and switch off at the plug and turn on again a few times. if this still doesnt work it sounds like a fault with the monitor. if you have another monitor try plugging that in just to check it isnt your hardrive. if this doesnt work then i suggest you u contact a PC repairer to tell you the problem. i ended up buyin a new monitor though lol
