We currently have a belkin wireless router serving 3 computers within our house. I have a belkin receiver and the other 2 have the standard built in receivers.

Since we upgraded to wireless, we have always had problems with being disconnected from the wireless network. It definitely has something to do with the router as all 3 computers get disconnected at the same time.

Is there a quick fix for this or is it a problem with the router?

I appreciate that some people like certain brands e.g. linksys or netgear and will tell me to get rid of the belkin router (I dont want to be told how bad belkin is). Just want to know if this is a common problem and if it can be fixed (without getting rid of my router and get 1 of the above makes).

Are you really really sure it is the router? I have spent several weeks screaming at Orange after going wireless and having problems staying online.
Turned out it was down to BT and there was a fault on my line even though i was still able to make and receive telephone calls, oops.
Ask your Internet provider or BT to do a test on your line first.

100% its the router.

There's another computer connected directly to it through a cable and that 1 never gets disconnected (even when the other 3 have).
Try changing channels - you are probably on channel 11, so try 6. Or vice versa.

Then turn everything off at the mains, then turn on in this EXACT order:

1. Modem. Wait at least 30 seconds...

2. Router - wait again...

3. PCs and laptops

Hopefully this will sort it all out.
I've personally found Belkin routers to be temperamental.

Once you have this problem, goto the router's settings page (192.168.2.1 I think). If you get access to those pages, then the wireless is still working.

There should then be a button on that router home page that says 'connect', if you're currently disconnected. Click that, and hopefully you'll be back online.
