laptop tv dongle

i recently bought a hauppauge freeview dongle for my laptop which with the aid of an extra piece of coaxle works welll at home. but i want to use it at work(security guard nights)lol the little ariel that came with it is useless i bought a digital portable aeriel to use at work costintg 30 quid. and it doesnt. can any one tell me if they know of a good portable ariel that would workis it a case of going cheap as i can again or just keep experimenting????

If there is a poor freeview reception in that area, no portable aerial will be successful.

Do you know if your workplace is in a strong freeview area?

I assume you are in a portacabin or low level building?

It's about as bad as it gets......
couple of thoughts....
have you tried re-tuning
we recently moved house ... I thought pointing at the same ariel ... (only 2 miles down road) but no ... all tellys needed re-tuning.

I'm using an amplified indoor (digital) ariel which is mains powered - and it's realy good ... (but that doesn't help you).
so they do work in some circumstances


how about a local TV shop ... perhaps you could strike a deal - try before you buy .... to find one that works

try maplins.....or a second hand portable satilite dish.very compact.i have one in my camper and works just about anywhere and i'm in scottish highlands a lot..they come with a stand and easy to work
