Sat nav DVD

I recently bought an updated sat nav dvd from e bay, the seller claimed it would also update the software in the car to give me tmc live traffic information and give me the option of avoiding the traffic jam/accident/ roadworks etc, so far when stuck on the A12 due to a few accidents, it did not advise me of anything, the seller is refusing to answer my e mails about this.
does any one know if this would actually work in my car (2005 X type Jaguar) and if it does what should I expect.
Your help would be much appreciated

Hi neildownx, Thankyou very much for your answers, it was very helpful. The seller responded to paypal and refunded my money, as you said, its a shame he didnt answer my e mails, there is no option on the screen to enable the TMC function and I dont really want to go to Jaguar as the car is still under manufactures warranty, so I think I will just have to live with it as it is and rely on the TA on the radio.
