making my own website

im looking to start my own website.can anyone give me a good place to start

Do you want to buy your own domain (web address), like www.mysite.co.uk?

Do you want to then create a web site for a business or organization using some web tools (Dreamweaver or whatever)?

Have you any experience of designing a web site or anything similar?

I ask these questions because they define the answer me and others may give.

Note that some of the answers above mention a product called Microsoft Front Page.

This product is no longer available and has been replaced by a product called Microsoft Expression web.

If you are going to design a site DONT use Front Page.

Note Expression is just one product you can use to design a web site, there are loads of others.

Generally Dreamweaver is considered the best but may be a bit complex if you just want a simple site.
