Unable to import jpg format photos into Word documents
4 Answers
I am running XP and using Word 97. Word documents will not give me the option of importing a jpg format photo I can import photos by changing the format to a bitmap or other acceptable format.
Is this a known bug with Word 97/XP or is there a way of getting my PC to import jpg photos into Word documents?

it's an option when you install
it's selected by default ... but only a click to unselect.
if you run the setup and modify existing after the main progs there is a group for other word processor filetypes
and one for picture formats.
if it's ticked ... try unticking .... finish
then do it again and it should fix it

Thanks for your answers, this is not a function I use that often and could not recall if I have imported jpg to Word on my home system (but thought I had).
Following your comments, I checked out trying to import various jpg files held on my PC. Interestingly some it would allow to be imported others not. Looking at the properties of the jpg files, I can see no difference between them very strange, but not anything I cant work around.
