One week ago my machine changed so I could not get into the internet. What caused this I do not know I know that if I type a certain wording into the RUN slot I can follow a menu and put in a date I wish the machine to backdate to. Yes I know I will lose all software application I have put in since then but that is not a problem. Can anyone help please

if you're on windows XP type MSCONFIG into the run dialog box.
sounds like you want system restore. Type restore into the run box. then run rstrui.exe. Follow the instructions to restore your PC to an earlier point.

Sorry OBonio just tried your answer. I never new you could run system restore from msconfig utility. I do now.
I only found out today aswell, so that makes two of us :o)
Why do you all look for the most complicated ways to do things? Why not just select system restore with a few clicks of the mouse button under System Tools in Accessories on the Start Menu.
Only complicated if you don't know what your doing ;-)
I find that complicated answers are usually arrived at by accident by those who don`t know how to reach a simple solution.
