does it not give an error message or say its out of ink??
Question Author
No it has no error message and isnt out of ink,I should mention that in one email which contained various references to http pages it printed all the links but nothing else, hence my asking publicly for help
does office open the files?

is there anything stuck in the print queue?
can you print a test page?
Question Author
Sorry for delay nothing stuck in print queue, and files do open but other than details of http pages that is all that prints
when you say office won't print
do jobs go through as if they did .... does paper come out (blank) or does it just sit there in the print queue?

shot in the dark - check the paper size
a lot of PDFs are set in letter
because with PDFs there isn't any real paper - sometimes it sticks.

then your "intelegent" printer waits for the "correct" paper
Question Author
The paper passes through blank except when I test the PDF email where it prints it perfectly, and the email which has several http leads where it is blank I can also print jpeg images sent by email, all inks are working perfectly,I do thank you for your continued interest which is baffling.I have tried various help desks without success. Thanks again p.s. I will see if the PDF printing can be at a different size,it filled an A4 but perhaps it shouldnt have
my printer "knows" about paper - if I try to print legal - it needs it's properties changing from a4 to legal

legal will fit on a4 (just) but often if there is a "fit" option you can't see a difference.

if it's a colour printer - try ticking the black and white option
also try shifting the print mode to draft - or anything away from where it is now

if still no joy
remove the printer
install one of the windows epson drivers (vista has a good selection)
or see if you can download a more up to date driver

it's difficult not being able to see - but....
Question Author
I have changed the colour then reinstated it ,I thought I had solved the matter when I found that the discs I had were not compatible to Vista,my previous system being XP,so I removed the entire program, then clicked install printer and Vista reconnected my printer but sadly it still does the same thing.I have started a chain with my email provider aswell as this one,so if I find the answer anywhere I will post it ,meanwhile thanks for your support.
Question Author
A reply for ACthe Troll, thanks somehow it is now working to get to this point I removed all printers then reinstalled them, and rather expensively took out the inks which were only put in last week and put new ones in their place despite there being no warning signals on the printer, then I test printed and it came out fine so I think it is all OK
printer drivers have always been a problem one way or another - remove reinstall generally sorts it (if it worked in the first place)

.... and vista for vista is pretty important too - but the ink thing is odd ....

main thing it's working - a result is a result
