CD Burner not working HELP!!!
Just recently my CD/DVD drive has stopped working, it opened and closed but after that did nothing. When I've tried to burn a disc from itunes it says Disc burner or software not found? I rang my local computer repair shop and described what was happening and they told me it would need replacing. So in it goes and I pick it up today with new cd drive and well nothing has changed it's still not working and I'm stumped and miffed that I just forked out 40 to have this fixed. Anybody have a solution? If I take it back to the shop I'm worried sick they'll charge me even more and I can't really afford it. Please help

They can't charge you more! I'd be more worried about taking it back to them as they are obviously useless!
but firstly before taking it back to shop, does the drive show up in my computer at all?

you don't need any software for windows to recognise a CD drive.
I'd take the side off and just check the the cables are plugged into it properly, there are only two that go into the back of the drive, the smaller one is power and can only go in one way, the long flat one is the data lead and that can go either way so make sure the edge with the red stripe on the cable is towards the power connector.
Also check the wide ribbon cable is actually connected properly to the main board at the other end
