HD TV Reception.
12 Answers
I haven't got one yet, but consdiering when the credit crunch is a thing of the past!! to buy a HD TV. Can anyone tell me what HD channels I can receive 'Over the air' at present. I haven't got sky or virgin (or any cabletv) , just freeview. what would i need to get even the basic channels? Is there an in-built reveiver or a receiver box available (again to receive via my usual TV antenna).. and does anyone know what is projected for the future?
Thanks - no rush think I've got about 3-4 years before I have the money!!

There is not enough bandwidth available to broadcast HD channels while the old analog signal is being transmitted.
There will probably be HD channels available by freeview sometime after 2012 when the analog signals are turned of.
And pretty much any TV you buy these days will have a built in freeview tuner to enable you to watch all the freeview channels (depending on coverage in your aera)
